Diary - Sri Kuala Lumpur Mock Cheque Presentation

It was in 1983, Sri Kuala Lumpur School has started their sponsorship program with Zoo Negara. 27 years later, Sri Kuala Lumpur School remains one of the main sponsors of the zoo.
Personnel and Projects Manager of Sri KL School, Tn. Hj. Abdul Rais A. Manas says that “sponsorship is one of the ways to include love and kindness towards animal and to bring the children closer to the nature”. He further said that, “We are proud to be part of the conservation effort”.
Sri Kuala Lumpur School officially attached to the Wildlife Sponsorship Scheme in 1987, by sponsoring a mouse-deer. In 1991, the school added another animal in its sponsorship list by adopting “Mamba” the Bengal Tiger.
These generous actions are continued until now. This year, Sri KL School will continue to sponsor a Malayan tiger (Panthera tigris jacksoni) named ‘Zanah Tasha’ and two mouse-deers (Tragulus javanicus). Recently, Zanah Tasha has given birth to four cubs (two males and two females) on 25 August 2011. They are in great shape and available for public viewing in Big Cats Exhibition section.
Several interactive activities for forty persons from Sri KL School have been conducted by the zoo’s Enrichment Department at the tiger and the mouse-deers exhibit areas. The event commenced from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.
The event will be attended by YBhg. Tn. Hj. Abdul Rais A. Manas himself, representing the Sri KL School. The representatives of the Zoo Negara’s Council Members (also Vice Presidents of the zoo), Dato’ Low Yow Tian, En. Rahmat Ahmat Lana and also En. Mohd Hassan Bin Samion will also attend the event.
